I'd suggest children do their introductory paragraph, the second paragraph about how they spend their weekdays, the third about their weekends, the fourth about what they're doing to help make the world a better place, and a concluding paragraph. Parents, I am asking you to give the children more independence on these assignments please. Many of them are in very adult language, which the children are not able to replicate in class when they have on demand writing tests. Let them be more independent please, so they gain confidence. Is it okay for you to look over what they've done and discuss ideas before they start? Of course! But please don't sit beside them typing their essays, giving them vocabulary, or helping them with their phrasing. Children learn from their mistakes and need to feel they are effective at communicating their ideas. Thanks!
