We have a science test on chemistry and a social studies test on explorers this week. We will also be forming new groups for book clubs/ buddy reading. Additionally, we are entering the wild world of long division. If you are confused as to how it is taught now, the children have access to Everyday Math online to help you all. The web address is in their homework agendas.
Below is our Question of the Week. Children got it when we were last together Thursday. Hopefully, this is not your first time hearing about it! I gave it early as I know they don't want to be working on it Halloween night. We are going to continue using the rubric the children and I created together to allow for more creativity. " If you could have a conversation with three famous people who are no longer alive, who would you talk to, and what questions would you ask them? Why?"

Because there is no school Friday, we will not have Question of the Week this week. I know you will all be very disappointed! Children used the rubric we created to assess themselves on the Halloween topic. The children and I will be comparing our scores to celebrate successes and target weaknesses. We will have Question of the Week next week, despite it being Halloween Thursday. I will share the topic with students and parents this Thursday so they have a good week to complete it. The children will be moving to Mr. McLaughlin's room for Environmental Science beginning Thursday Nov. 7th.
